We believe that when a neighborhood looks cared for, people feel cared for. Our mission is to beautify Briargate's shared spaces, inspire the next generation of stewards, and build genuine connection between the people who call this community home.
Our story
In 2020, Angela Bancroft noticed the Rampart High School garden had been left behind. Rather than wait for someone else to act, she grabbed her gloves and got to work — alone at first, weeding and replanting a space that had so much potential and so little attention.
It wasn't long before others noticed. Janet Feeder, a teacher at Rampart who shared Angela's vision, joined the effort and helped give it roots inside the school community. What had begun as one neighbor's quiet act of care became something larger: a club, a mission, and a growing band of volunteers who believed the same thing Angela did — that Briargate deserved better.
One garden became the proof of what's possible when neighbors decide to show up for each other.
— The founding spirit of the Briargate Community Garden Club
Since then, the club has grown to 18 members — and counting. The work has expanded far beyond Rampart's garden beds, touching the entrances and gathering places that frame daily life in Briargate.
